she laughs teeth
at spherical dogs
then tells me

professor's glare
about historical narratives
as if for her reading
nameless, they died, relived
calls music a moral law
art the tree of life
her Luve a red, red rose
like,
like,
like

when it comes to thought we're all equally fucked
so we beat our cracked kettles to call for the stars

staring at our shoes
for the next word
in that song we started
when Eve drew herself

in northern Spain.
Sixty thousand years later:
an approximation again
