The glaciers melt,
The sea levels rise,
Fresh air is something we once smelt,
What the future holds remains a surprise.

Worries of food, homes and water,
As the oceans acidify and corals bleach,
Harvest seasons change, becoming shorter,
Was no one listening to Attenborough's speech?

2 degrees warming we must prevent,
Otherwise ecosystems will be lost,
Surely this is not what we meant?
Continuing to burn fossil fuels will come at a cost.
