My whiteboard

My whiteboard is my life:
I write my story and
draw my strife.

I make a mistake:
my eraser destroys it,
learning left in its wake.

What stories could that eraser tell?
Question, calculation and growth.
Will it hide what I won’t sell?

One day I noticed a smudge.
Even in desperate futility
the mark would not budge.

I stopped and considered:
“this mistake is a part of me,
for what reason? I am bewildered."

As people, we are continuous.
Smudges in our persona
are us, no matter how strenuous.

My whiteboard is me,
the eraser is my true flaw,
is this really the law?
