If I was a piece of equipment used in;
science, engineering or industry,
You'd turn me off and on again,
Leave me off for thirty seconds - maybe even more,
Before turning me back on,
Hoping for a magic resolution,
But not actually getting one.

If I was a piece of equipment used in;
science engineering or industry,
You'd take me apart, piece by peice,
Testing each component, to see which one was faulty,
You service each one,
Replacing those that are broken,
Before putting me back together,
To see what that had done.

If I was a piece of equipment used in;
science, engineering or industry
You'd investigate me using iterative approaches,
Trying hard to see,
If there was a work around the problem;
What could be the best way -
to keep some If not all of my functionality.

If I was a piece of equipment used in;
science, engineering or industry,
You'd try all these things
Hoping for a solution,
Before making the final decision,
The one you'd rather avoid,
The expensive replacement
The decision that means I'm retired;
To the graveyard -
Of broken and redundant technology.
