The Power of Humanity

There are scientists
Pulling water out of thin air
Continually pushing forward to end drought.

There are antiretroviral drugs
Rendering one of the world’s biggest killers
Effectively undetectable.

There are brain implants
Defying science itself
Repairing irreparable paralysis.

There are carbon-capture plants,
in-ear translators,
passenger drones and recycled rockets.

There are miracles happening every single day,
And at some point we must stop
This tirade of self-deprecation

Stop

And ask ourselves

Are we really doing so badly?
