Unexpectedly

And in the moments that followed,
all thought went away.
Looking in your eyes,
I didn't know what to say.
A peace like I hadn't known for a long time
settled over me.
It was unlike anything I had thought it would be
and yet it was everything.
My mind couldn't be anywhere else even when it tried
so instead it manipulated and lied
about what this was.
A week later, I still couldn't let this feeling go.
These mixed emotions I now decided to explore and
with all other things uncertain, this I surely know
was what if felt like
to fall in love with you.
