Heavy does the burden lie
Keep me down, my soul to fly
A whispered song fills my ears
And echos on through hollow years

Falling hills roll over me
A solemn, evergreen legacy
Blue hope holds a casted light
Yet sheds cold truth on aimless plight

Heavy does the burden lie
At the breast a baby cries
Let my heart be sorrow and mirth
Then return me to the earth
