They said she didn't know

They didn't believe in her,
They said she didn't know,
"She is only just a woman,
What does she know about Hooke's Law?"

Polymers and nanoparticles,
They were her weakest suit.
So she set out to defeat them,
In a challenging, but rewarding pursuit.

Alas! She did so,
With glowing shades of green.
Her face beaming with yellow,
She helped discover the therapy of genes.

Vectors, proteins, disorders and diseases,
DNA manipulation was all that she needed,
To cure the young and old alike,
She dreamed a dream - and succeeded.

They didn't believe in her,
They said she didn't know,
"I am unapologetically a Woman,
Now let me tell you about Hooke's Law."
