From Thomson and Rutherford to Geim and Novoselov,
Braggs a shared Nobel heritage,
That within our famous red brick walls,
Founded not only Science
But a spirit of discovery.

Tempered in time,
Defiant in adversity,
It endures.
The tale of Icarus replayed,
Reinvented.

Wearing the skin of innovation
Which clings,
To the crystallised lattice of cooperation
That binds,
Minds young and old,

It seeks the truth and bleeds purple.
Skirting war torn boundaries,
Battling for Nature and Science
Whilst crying,
"Cognitio, sapientia, humanitas"
