Entropy

A cup breaks,
A cat dies,
A supernova lights the skies;
Wood burns,
Iron rusts,
Lofty mountains turn to dust.
Friendships start, and grow, and die,
In the night a baby’s cry
Becomes a man’s despairing “why?”
Then fades to a death rattle.

Probability and time
In elegant equations
Join to give us entropy:
Disorder ever increasing.
